Andrea Kelly
Andrea Kelly’s figure and landscape paintings explore the evolving nature of our relationships and the world around us, often in hyper-colors, giving the viewer a heightened awareness of light, form, and color.
Inspiration
I am inspired by the human condition, the evolving nature of our relationships and the natural world that surrounds us
Techniques
I work in oils on wood or masonite panels or linen canvas. I use many techniques, from old master renaissance to modern, direct painting, as well as a few of my own invention.
career highlights
I earned a BFA at School of Visual Arts, NY, where I received the "Roy Lichtenstein Scholarship Award for Excellence." I enjoyed post graduate work at New York Academy Graduate School of Figurative Art, NY.
I have had the privilege of exhibiting my work regularly, as well as working with talented art dealers, most notably; Agnes Ehrenreich of Chrysalis Gallery in Southampton, NY, and currently with Tamara Canon of Gallery Piquel in both New Hope, PA, and Lambertville, NJ.
I have also had the honor of teaching both privately and on the college level; currently I am an adjunct professor at County College of Morris and Centenary University, both in New Jersey. I have taught many art subjects over the years- painting, drawing, fashion design, and figure drawing to name my favorites.
